Islam And Gays
We believe in freedom of ideas and expression so it's perfectly okay for 88% of Muslims to believe homosexuality is morally wrong.
Unfortunately Islam is both a religion and a legal code and homosexuality has been made illegal in 36 Muslim countries and in 10 Muslim countries the prescribed punishment is execution
and if there is any truth in the Quran then this is followed by an eternity in the fiery pit of hell
where its likely one's penis is removed in a terrifyingly painful way
and white hot pokers are relentlessly thrust up your anus. These organs are then miraculously restored in time for the next excruciating punishment to begin.
This is not just a theoretical condemnation of homosexuality. As of 1999 in Iran, more than 4,000 lesbians and gays had been executed in the 20 years since the 1979 "Islamic revolution." Virtually everyone with a TV or the Internet will have heard about the murder of gays by ISIS. ISIS members believe that they are the authentic Islam copying the actions (sunnah) and obeying the commandments (hadith) of Muhammad.
Incredibly Muslims in Great Britain have been allowed to plaster sections of London with stickers declaring these Muslim-dominated areas as a "Gay Free Zones."
East London has become a Gay Free Zone. In 1991 there were approximately 15 LGBT venues in a radius of about 1 mile: by 2011 that number had dropped to 3 gay bars.
In 2 decades, the population of London increased by over 1 million new residents, yet
the number of gay bars near Muslims was decimated:
no other area of London had seen a decline in the number of gay bars that was anything remotely like this "ethnic cleansing" in East London.
Indeed, those 3 remaining gay bars in the Gay Free Zone of East London are all to be found in areas where there is no mosque in the vicinity and where there is
a significantly large ghetto of non-Muslims. Where the Muslims move in, homophobic attacks increase and the gays move out … or else.
While some Muslims attempt to downplay Islam's traditional animus against homosexuality the overwhelming majority of Muslim scholars agree:
With few exceptions all scholars of Sharia, or Islamic law, interpret homosexual activity as a punishable offence as well as a sin. There is no specific punishment prescribed, however, and this is usually left to the discretion of the local authorities on Islam. - Homosexuality in Islam p. 184 - K. Duran
The Quran retells the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (traditionally because of homosexuality) 4 times:
"And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. "Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of God if thou tellest the truth." - Quran, (29:28-29)
This condemnation is reflected in the (il)legality of homosexuality in the current Muslim world:
The Safe Schools program has provoked national debate about the teaching of homosexual issues in schools but there are no such problems in Islamic schools. Al-Faisal College is the largest Islamic school in NSW. Its founder and managing director, Shafia Abdullah Khan, estimates they have 2800 students and not one gay student.
The principal of Al-Faisal college in Sydney’s west, Ghazwa Khan, said the school had never had a child who was gay because they were taught at home that being homosexual is "not recommended". "We’ve never had any child who says these things because they are being taught at home how to behave and know that this is not recommended," she said. "We’ve never had this issue at all, we’ve never had it. I think the students know their limit and they are taught at home what to say and what not to say," she said.
